Akshita Saini

Akshita is set to explore the on-ground realities of the housing sector through her internship experience at IHF. She is interested in affordable housing and its intersections with other socio-economic aspects. During her previous coursework in the subject of geography, she undertook projects inquiring into urban and regional development challenges. She simultaneously gained exposure to  complexities in housing among low-income families and gaps in the implementation of housing schemes and policies. Her most recent academic project work was focused on how women and their caste identity affect access to affordable housing by conceptualising on their intersectional experience.

 Akshita has completed her Bachelors and Masters in Geography from Miranda House, Delhi University (DU) and Center for the Study of Regional Development (CSRD), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) respectively. She is also pursuing Diploma in Urban Planning and Development from Indra Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and has been enrolled in University of North Carolina for Masters in City and Regional Planning for Fall 2022.
